The final concert of the Bach+ series again highlights choral works within the liturgical context in a choral celebration for Ascension Day. J. Ernest Green, the Bach+ vocal consort, and members of St. Anne’s Choir and Annapolis Chorale Chamber Chorus present Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine (1610), a compendium of vocal styles matched only by Bach’s B Minor Mass.
In keeping with the tradition of presenting timeless choral works within the liturgical context, Artistic Director J. Ernest Green, the Bach+ vocal consort, and members of St. Anne’s Choir and Annapolis Chorale Chamber Chorus present Gabriel Fauré’s immortal Requiem in the stunning sanctuary of St. Anne’s Church for the Feast of All Souls.
We close our 50th anniversary season with the big wonderful sound of the Chorale and the Chamber Orchestra performing YOUR requests! From our five-decade history, you’ve chosen works by Brucker, Jenkins, and we’re adding the regional premiere of Marvin Hamlisch’s “Anatomy of Peace,” among others. We’re inviting back singers who’ve been members of the Chorale over the years to help blow out the candles on the cake and celebrate half a century of bringing music to Annapolis!
Our 50th anniversary celebration continues with something amazing still in the works. Check back for more details as they get locked in.
