Are you having trouble remembering what it’s like to see a live performance? Do you think you might not remember when to sit, clap, or laugh? In Instructions to the Audience, cabaret artist Jason Hentrich will sing songs and tell stories looking back at a time without live performance to look forward to performances to come. Enjoy songs by Stephen Sondheim, Jason Robert Brown, Tom Lehrer, and more.
Jason Hentrich was last seen at Live Arts Maryland as King Arthur in 2020’s Camelot. He performs in plays, musicals, concerts, and operas around the Baltimore/Washington region. His other stage credits include Company, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Alice in Wonderland. Jason has also performed with Washington National Opera, Baltimore Concert Opera, and the Live Arts Bach + Series.
Andrew Stewart has served as musical director for over fifty theatrical and cabaret productions in the Baltimore area since 2006, as well as making more than a thousand appearances as pianist and emcee for Maryland Opera’s education programs. Hailed as a “singer’s dream” by Gramophone Magazine, he is a faculty accompanist at Goucher College and in constant demand as a collaborative artist. His most recent performance with Live Arts Maryland was for 2018’s staging of The Secret Garden.
